Spears come in many lengths as well as having a variety of tips, from the flat arrow tip which is most often seen in medieval designs along with the 3 edged spear tip. A spear is a very deadly weapon in the hands of someone who knows how to use one. It not only gave the combatant the advantage of reach and leverage yet if thrown it was a deadly missle, with reports of being able to lift a grown man and throw him backwards several feet after being hit by the spear, which had been thrown from over 12 feet away.
